Fonzy Haskell was born and raised in southwest Wyoming and now lives in Crook County near Moorcroft with his wife of 22 years and their six children. He serves as a Game and Fish Commissioner, representing District 6. His passion for the outdoors began at an early age with his family camping, fishing, boating, cutting firewood, and hunting. After high school, the pursuit of rodeo led him to northeast Wyoming, where he currently resides and works. In 1998, he started working for Pickrel Land and Cattle Co. and Burch Rodeo Company. With that profession came opportunities to guide hunters, and eventually he became the outfitter of record for Four Horse Outfitters. He has managed that operation for more than a decade and has been a hunting guide for more than 20 years. Being involved with agriculture and the outfitter and guide industries has given him insight into working with the public, the importance of having conversations with people, sharing ideas, and being willing to communicate and listen to people’s concerns.
